How it started
One truck, and a phone somebody actually answered
Ethan Davis started EAD with a single roll-off truck and a handful of containers. The idea was not complicated, and it was not new — it was simply that the haulers working this stretch of the Lakeshore were hard to reach, vague about timing, and quick to add a fee that nobody had mentioned on the phone.
So the pitch was the opposite of that. Give people one number that covers the job. Give them a delivery time and then hit it. Answer the phone yourself. Word travels quickly in a town the size of Holland — one remodeller mentions you to another, a roofer tells a supplier — and within a couple of years one truck was not enough.
The company is bigger now. The rules have not moved.

The number we give you covers delivery, the rental period, pickup, fuel, disposal and a stated tonnage allowance. If a job looks likely to run heavy we say so before the truck leaves, not after it is weighed.
You talk to someone who knows the job
Everyone who answers our phone has loaded a container and ridden a route. Ask how many squares fit in a 20 and you get an answer, not a transfer.
Somebody else's property gets treated like ours
Boards under the rails on every driveway placement. Drivers who walk the spot before they set. And if we do leave a mark, we own it and sort it out.
Loads go where they should
Clean concrete, scrap metal and green waste get separated and routed for recovery. Michigan bans yard waste from landfill anyway, so we keep green loads clean as a matter of course.

The Lakeshore is a specific place, and it shows in the work
Serving this corner of Michigan properly means knowing things a national dispatcher never will. That the cottage lanes out at Macatawa and Saugatuck were laid out for summer traffic, not for a loaded truck with a 22-foot box on the back. That sandy dune subgrade near the water behaves nothing like the heavier clay inland. That a farm drive out past Overisel holds a loaded truck fine in October and will not in late March.
It means planning around the county frost laws every spring rather than being surprised by them. It means knowing that the older homes near downtown carry plaster and lath that weighs several times what modern drywall does, and that nearly every house here has a full basement holding decades of storage that has been quietly going damp.
And it means understanding the calendar — the autumn roofing rush before the snow, interior renovation season through winter, GVSU move-out week, cottage turnovers, and the spring thaw when everybody decides at once that the basement is finally getting cleared.

Meet the work
What a normal week looks like
Monday might open with a 15 yard dropped for a basement cleanout in Zeeland, then a swap on a framing job where the crew filled a 30 faster than anyone planned. Tuesday could be a tear-off out in Hamilton where the homeowner needs the box tight to the eave and gone before the weekend.
Midweek there is usually an estate clearance somewhere rural — a family place near Overisel or Fennville with a pole barn and sixty years of accumulation in it, where the job is as much about patience as tonnage. Fridays lean commercial: retail and office fit-outs clearing before a handover, property managers turning units.
Then the season leans on all of it. Autumn is the roofing rush. Winter is interior renovation and snow-cleared placements. Spring brings the thaw, the frost laws and every basement in the county at once. And when a wind event comes off the lake, everything gets rearranged and we run green loads until the limbs are off people's lawns.

Ethan Davis founded the company and still runs it. It is locally owned and operated out of our yard on 460 Cleveland Ave in Holland — no franchise agreement, no out-of-state parent company, and no national call centre between you and the person who schedules the truck.
How long have you been in business?
Since 2014 — around 11 years serving Holland, Ottawa County, Allegan County and the wider Lakeshore. In that time we have hauled for homeowners clearing a single basement, roofers stripping two-layer tear-offs in Hamilton, and builders running several lakeshore sites at once.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — licensed to haul in Michigan and carrying general liability and commercial auto cover. If you are a contractor, property manager or HOA and need a certificate of insurance on file before we can come on site, ask when you call and we will usually have it issued the same day.
What areas do you cover?
Holland and across Ottawa County and Allegan County — Zeeland, Saugatuck, Douglas, Hamilton, Macatawa, Park Township, Graafschap, Overisel, Fennville, West Olive, Hudsonville, Jamestown, Jenison, Allendale, Grand Haven, Spring Lake and Coopersville among them. If you are just outside that ring, call anyway.
Do you work through the winter?
Every week of it. Lake-effect snow does not stop deliveries — we just need the placement spot cleared before the truck arrives. Frozen ground actually carries a loaded truck better than saturated spring ground, so winter placements often go more smoothly than April ones.
Do you work with contractors on ongoing accounts?
We do, and a good share of our week is repeat trade. Accounts get priority on swap-outs, consistent pricing across every site you are running, certificates of insurance on file and consolidated invoicing. If you have more than one job live at a time it is worth setting up properly.
